None of us want to think about these things until they are needed — if anything, it can feel morbid to do so. However, being able to make decisions with little to no stress beforehand can relieve anxiety at a time when self preservation is needed most. This is especially true for Jewish funerals and shivas, which often take place within days of the passing of a loved one.

For celebrations honoring someone’s life, planning ahead gives us time to be creative, explore ideas without feeling rushed, and make changes as the celebration comes together. It also gives us the flexibility to adapt the tribute as needed and create something that feels personal to the person being celebrated.

I can help you determine which images will work best for the intended purpose by reviewing more photographs than are ultimately needed, as outlined in each service above. Digital files, prints, scanned photographs, and older family photographs can all be considered depending on the project.

Memorial photography often involves sensitive circumstances and strong emotions. I approach each service with care, discretion, and respect for the family, while remaining attentive to the moments and details that are important to preserve. We’ll discuss any special considerations, family wishes, cultural or religious traditions, and other details that will help me understand how you would like the service documented.

Photographs provided for memorial displays and tributes can be restored, cropped, adjusted, or otherwise enhanced as needed. I’ll help determine which photographs are best suited for displays, slideshows, prints, or other uses, and prepare them accordingly.
