In a nutshell: I don’t want to lose what is important to me. And so, I don’t want you to lose what’s important to you.
Photography projects are a collaboration. Together, we create a body of work that reflects the people, relationships, experiences, and moments that matter to you. Every project is unique, and I take a hands-on, thoughtful approach from start to finish, with open communication throughout the process. The more I understand you, your priorities, location, schedule, vision, and expectations, the better I can tailor the experience and photographs to what matters most.
We’ll work through the details together, from choosing the right session or coverage to planning around timing, weather, group photographs, clothing, locations, image use, and final products. One of my favorite mottos is: Plan, plan, plan so you can wing it, wing it, wing it. Good preparation gives us the freedom to be present, adapt when things change, and make space for everything to just happen naturally.
I also believe photographs should feel like the people and experiences they document. I don’t batch process every image to create a signature look or over-process photographs simply for the sake of consistency. I pay attention to the light, color, skin tones, surroundings, composition, and feeling of each photograph so the finished collection feels true to itself — and true to you. I want you to look at your photographs and recognize yourself, remember what you were feeling, or see the personality of the person you love in a single expression.
Another favorite motto: If you feel comfortable, you look comfortable. If you look comfortable, you look good. So that’s the goal: to be comfortable, at ease, happy, and YOU!
