BAR & BAT MITZVAH PHOTOGRAPHY

Why I Photograph Bar & Bat Mitzvahs

After photographing Bar and Bat Mitzvahs over the years, my nephew’s Bar Mitzvah gave me a deeper appreciation of what this milestone means. While I understood its significance, I hadn’t truly felt it until recently.

In May 2026, my nephew Noah became a Bar Mitzvah. For the first time, I was the proud aunt of the Bar Mitzvah boy. I saw the years of preparation and dedication that led to that day. I saw my brother’s pride in his son, my sister-in-law’s excitement in creating a celebration where Noah could feel just how loved and appreciated he is, and the importance of bringing their family and community together. I’ll always remember my mom — his grandmother — so grateful and joyful to be alive to witness it, just as her father had felt when witnessing our mitzvahs. She had a smile on her face all day and night.

Photographing a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is not just about documenting a celebration. It’s about honoring tradition and cherishing growth, pride, and togetherness. It’s an honor to be invited to witness it.
